When posting in the forum, in order to keep the story moving, your post should in some way, contribute to the story. Here is a checklist of ways that you can accomplish this:

  • Create a new event. By introducing new plot, the story can move forward. However, if too many events are created with no resolutions, the plot is merely jumbled.
  • Resolve, or contribute in resolving a current event. Resolving a current dilemma introduced in the story is a great way to move the story forward and make room for more events to be introduced.
  • Define an event or resolution. Often, events and resolutions are created, but originally lack definition. By adding detail, you can allow for story development.
  • Clarify a current event/resolution. Should be done only appropriate circumstances, and while it does not actually create events or resolve dilemmas, it facilitates this.

So, your post should ideally accomplish at least one of the above tasks. In Jenna (myself included), we've been doing a lot of the 3rd option, which has kinda failed to move the story. The admin has introduced a plot character to assist in this, but I think if we try to accomplish one of these things per post, we should facilitate an interesting story!
